Roles and Responsibilities Thorough knowledge in correct interpretation of Engineering drawings (Gear parts, as forge & machined parts drawings) Correct understanding & interpretation of GD&T in machining process and measurement methodsShould be strong in first principle methods of inspectionProcess knowledge in 1) Gears : Hobbing, Shaving & Grinding ; 2) Heat Treatment : Case carburising, hardening, Tempering, Induction hardening & Gas Nitriding; 3) Forging process & Machining. Experience in solving Gear quality issues & Forging defects, causes & remedies Hands on experience in using measuring instruments like Gear tester, CMM, Contour tester and other basic instruments like Verner Calliper, Micrometre, 2D height gauge etc. Skill in casting lay out inspection. Skill on Supplier approval audits & Process Audits. Ability to discuss & confirm the supplier manufacturing feasibility for the given engineering specifications. Basic understanding in materials & metallurgical aspects of Steel. Exposure to Product realization tools like PFD, PFMEA & CP. Exposure to APQP & PPAP. Exposure to problem solving tools like 7 QC tools, SPC & MSA, Exposure to SAP Exposure to QMS requirements Good in interpersonal skills Good in both Oral & written communication Ability to plan & execute Component Quality requirements (Coordination skills) Ability in effective communication to suppliers on Quality problems, interactions with supplier to ensure quality supplies with QMS documents requirements. Good in MS Excel & power point ppt etc.
