Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for Capex Analyst for a reputed MNC based at Bangalore.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  • To determine the value- creation potential of a project, perform periodical analysis on Capex data; provide accurate Financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis to management and operational metrics, in order to enable decision making, meet financial regulations and decrease exposure, risk or liabilities to Company.
  • Communication and (internal) stakeholder management with higher management levels within the Global organization is required in this process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Annual planning and quarterly forecasting process of Capex budget in accordance to our guidelines & Participate in prioritization / project ranking
  • Compile “Capital Expenditure Requests” review return on investment & NPV analysis in order to enable effective decision making regarding proposed investments
  • Capital Expenditure Requests (CER) preparation
  • Analysis and timely reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually) of CER, open orders, Cash Flow, Variance analysis actual Vs. Plan
  • Monitor capital expenditure projects in terms of commitment and cash flow, comparison of project spend to approved budgets and forecast.
  • Monitoring of CWIP / AUC
  • Ensure each project has a Project number allocated and that all Capex is spent in the same project number
  • Creation of assets based on asset class in the respective ERP based on approved purchasing request
  • Addition & deletion of assets from the asset master aligned with approval matrix
  • Depreciation run on monthly basis & clear the GL accounts, Accelerated depreciation on forecast
  • GL to FAR reconciliation on monthly & quarterly
  • Inter-company transfer of assets / partial transfer / partial retirement
  • Other ad hoc analysis / query resolution
  • Ensure documents required for Capitalization are obtained before project handover
  • Impairment, write off, sale of un-capitalized assets
  • Maintain & track defined KPIs on periodic basis
  • Adjustment to statutory booking rules aligned with Local books & US GAAP
  • Support internal & external Audit requirements with relevant Capex data

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CA / CWA / B.Com / MBA is preferred
  • Minimum experience of 5 to 7 years of Capex analysis, accounting & reporting experience
  • Preferably familiar with USGAAP
  • Working knowledge of internal controls
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, Oracle & Hyperion
  • Good analytical skills and have hands on experience on Capex working & analysis
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in English
  • Experience in a multinational firm or within a GBS (Global Business Service) is preferred
  • Hands-on and proactive; strong organizational skills
  • Accustomed to working with deadlines, in a dynamic environment
  • Results driven and service oriented to internal and external customers
  • Excellent collaboration with colleagues within the local organization and with the colleagues of the global business service to support the overall Finance department’s goals and objectives
  • Flexible and able to work in a changing environment
  • Strong focus on improvement opportunities
  • Want to work in a new (to be) established team
  • Process documentations and certifications – will have to ensure that all process are appropriately documented and periodically certified by team members on regular basis
  • The individuals must have hands on experience in preparing process flows
